Altogether we’re talking about 7 generations!

Seit 15 Jahren Weisse Schäfer – seit 5 Jahren Snowfire Gems Shepherds

In meinen Teenagerjahren wurde mir ein 9 Wochen alter Welpe anvertraut, der mich fortan mein halbes Leben lang begleitet hat. Im Alter von 14 Jahren hat er für immer seine Augen geschlossen. Mit Topaz‘ Verlust voriges Jahr (01/2002 – 02/2016) ist eine Ära zu Ende gegangen. Er war einer der letzten Weissen Schäferhunde die vor der internationalen Anerkennung das Licht der Welt erblickte.

Auch wenn uns allen bewusst ist, dass es nie wieder so einen Hund wie Topaz geben wird, hat er uns etwas Unschätzbares hinterlassen. Er hat die Eckpfeiler meiner Zucht gesetzt und das Ziel Hunde mit seinen Qualitäten zu züchten sowie unseren Prinzipien treu zu bleiben.

In my teenage years I was entrusted with a 9 weeks old puppy who accompanied me for 14 years. He was one of the last dogs alive born before the international recognition of the breed … now it’s 2017 …Topaz is gone…the founder of our kennel is no longer alive and with his death last year a part of our heart and a huge part of our kennel died. We lost a solid, typefull, healthy dog, full of temperament, a dog with instinct, expression and a big heart, a dog which you won’t find „just around the corner“.

While Topaz‘ mind was strong & playfull to the last beat of his heart, he started loosing control over his legs during the last couple of days. Yesterday it got worse by hour so we decided to let him go! The most horrible timing, but thanks bud for letting me know when to make one of the hardest decision in my entire life!

Topaz my unchallenged pack leader with unbeatable instincts, the dog who was by my side half my life, slept peacefully away. At the age of 14 years, Topaz followed his son Phönix to the other side of the rainbow bridge – run free my lil angels!

It took me 7 years to convince my parents that we really need a 4-legged family member and exactly 14 years ago on 28/01/2002 he was born: Topaz of White Condor. Every single day was worth the wait for this buddy!

Nachdem Topaz vor Weihnachten 3x zusammen gebrochen war, haben wir nicht mehr damit gerechnet, dass wir noch seinen 13. Geburtstag miterleben werden. Topaz ist aber nach wie vor für Überraschungen gut. Mittlerweile läuft er wieder quietschfidel herum und begleitet uns sogar wieder auf unseren täglichen 7 km Runden.
